Cindy holds a B.A. in English from Oklahoma Baptist University and an M. Ed. from Regis University.
For much of the past 10 years, she has practiced as an Orton-Gillingham reading tutor. Many of the students she helped not only presented with extensive reading challenges, but also other academic and behavior challenges. Two families with children on the autism spectrum—one, a niece’s family, and one, a good friend’s—led her to recognize the great need to help children and their families as well. She believes that her work as a behavior technician is the next step in her path to make a significant, positive difference in the lives of others.
Cindy is not particularly outdoorsy, though she does enjoy snowshoeing and cycling. She loves travel—48 states and 3 continents; the needle arts, particularly cross-stitch; folky, bluegrassy music; and most of all spending time with family and friends. She and her husband Pete have two goofy cats and twin daughters, who, like their mother, will never finish going to school.
