Originally from Indiana, Kiah received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. After entering into the workforce, she soon realized that working with children of all ages and abilities was her primary passion.

Kiah has worked with children 0-18 years old with different backgrounds, abilities, and cultures. Kiah’s previous workforce experiences include working as a camp counselor in an inclusive outdoor camp, organizing youth programs in Alaska, guiding children in wilderness therapy programs, multiple years teaching preschool (including at Bal Swan Children’s Center), organizing and running summer camps, and managing two part-time daycare locations.

As a preschool teacher, Kiah believes that all children can learn in an inclusive, supportive, and fun environment. She works hard to instill an enthusiasm for learning in each student she encounters. Kiah enjoys teaching with art, songs, games, hands-on experiences, sensory exploration, and social emotional practices. She values the relationships she builds with each of her students. Kiah believes that every child learns differently and that it is her responsibility to patiently uncover the best methods to reach each student.

In her free time, Kiah creates art, spends time in nature, cooks, plays board/card games, and goes on adventures with her wife.
