Our social groups strengthen social skills through team building, problem-solving, play, planning and engaging in community activities (ex. trips, classes, games, etc.), individual and group goal-setting and achievement, and community engagement (ex. Food drives, volunteering, social service). Members will learn what it means to be a member of a group by practicing social interactions in a natural environment that is fun and engaging. They will challenge themselves to try new things and increase skills based on group interests. They will learn leadership skills and the value of supporting one another by setting goals and taking the necessary steps to achieve those goals. Best of all, they will establish new relationships that will last a lifetime. There are also ample opportunities to practice compromise, navigating interpersonal dynamics, problem-solving, and nurturing personal relationships.

What Sets Us Apart
Our social group is not curriculum-based, but rather focuses more on the real-world application of what most social skills curriculums teach. We believe what is most needed is the practice of these skills in a safe, engaging and supportive environment. Some of the skills our social group will address include:
- Identifying feelings
- Coping with triggers
- Initiating/continuing conversations
- Real-world problem-solving
- Emotional self-regulation
- Flexibility, adaptability, and compromise
- Team-building
- Acceptance
- Making and maintaining friendships
- Independence
